The Rising of Self Employment

The Rising of Self Employment

People in western states enjoy higher increases in
self-employment, 1.8% above the national average.
We believe that the "de-industrialization" of the USA,
caused by the end of the 20th Century and its
Industrial Revolution, has forced many seasoned, older
workers to move from supposedly secure, lifelong
employment into self-employment.
Moreover, we believe that many women and minorities
ere sick and tired of waiting for significant employment
opportunities, finding that self-employment is the true
route to their prosperity and professional success.
While the most recent self-employment boom is due
to declining employment opportunity, we believe that
another, even larger self-employment boom is
underway, powered by Generation X'ers using
the Internet and, in many cases, advantageous
direct selling and network marketing opportunities.
73% of Americans use the Internet. If you plan to
succeed in any business today, employment or self-
employment, you must learn to use the Internet well. Generation X'ers number 49.3 million. All agree, though, that this
population group is one step younger than the Baby Boomers.
Data show that X'ers are really not "slackers," but an
ambitious "unbeholden" generation, wanting to do things
their way-discarding the vocational paradigms of both
the Baby Boomers and The Silent Generation.
X'ers-a $1.1 trillion consumer market--include
marrieds (62%), minorities (37.9%), employed (81%),
and admirers of their parents (51%).
They prefer small, economical cars, marry later in life,
are very tech savvy (cell phones, computers, etc.), dislike
hype and self-importance and hate hypocrisy.
X'ers reject the core values of 20th Century corporate culture
of job security by sucking up, lifelong employment at one company, unquestioning company loyalty, doing exactly what they were told, and bowing down meekly to dim-witted coneheads holding lofty corporate titles.
The sun is setting on lifetime employment. The sun is rising
on self-employment. We are returning to the historical normalcy
of self-employment. Except for the Industrial Revolution,
self-employment has been historically normal. Lifelong employment
really has been a wretched historical abberation.
Plan now to be self-employed, then depart from the cubicle farm voluntarily at your convenience, not involuntarily at theirs.

Self Employment: Risks and How to Avoid Them

Self Employment: Risks and How to Avoid Them

There are potential risks involved if you want to start your own business. Happily, there are also powerful tips to consider if you want to avoid the pitfalls. Among the pitfalls out there, the five prominent ones that stand out include new idea risk, trend risk, large investment requirement and of course competition risks.

1. New Ideas
Many fruitful ventures worldwide started with a good idea. When it comes to self employment, starting with an idea is powerful if you can research all the pros and cons involved. Many good ideas fail if you do not do enough research to find out much about your business idea. It then becomes risky if you have put in time and money. The antidote for this will be proper research for your idea.

2. New Trends
Thousands of trends come and go. A new wave of trend can give you an idea for self employment. The best solution for this if you want to be self employed for the long term is to study trends and learn from the masters on the subject. There are thousands of them online. History students know that things happen in cycles. When you read, read and read..., you will be able to capitalize on emerging trends that will be here in the long run, instead of mere trends.

3. Large Investment Requirement
. Many people cannot afford such large costs. If it turns out to be less fruitful than expected, the risk becomes huge. On the other hand, online self employment risks are higher if one does not know how to go into it. You keep buying program after program until you spend quite a fortune. The best solution for this is to study the basics. Almost anything can be obtained for free on the net if you know how to use search engines, blogs and social networking sites for research; among others.

4. Competition
Online or off, competition abounds and is inevitable. However, the best approach is to focus on an area with as little competition as possible, with good profitability as well as long term potential growth.
The best way to avoid all these pitfalls is to learn and get enough information for free as well as from the experts. I have been marketing online for seven years now. I have also spent thousands of dollars on courses, e-books and and membership sites. I surely know what works and what does not work. If you listen to sound advice, read all you can about self employment opportunities for free before venturing into one.

Self Employment as the Key of Success

What really is self-employment? Well it seems that the creators of internet get rich schemes have defined it as work for as few hours as possible and make loads of cash so you can sleep, play or do nothing the rest of the day. Fire the boss and go home to do nothing but earn loads of cash. It's an interesting take on self-employment, but unfortunately bears no relation to reality nor in a real sense captures the true essence of self-employment.
Actually, self-employment is a noble aspiration because it allows us truly to be masters of our creativity and initiative. In the regular job market our creativity and initiative is confined to the goals and aspirations of our employers, our output is channeled to fit in with someone else's output and we can become stifled.
You many have learnt that your passion consumes you and you love it. It's time that we wake up to the reality that true success will not be achieved until we are willing to expend time and effort to get it. Money certainly does not grow on trees and even if it did I have not yet seen the tree that is planted today and bears tomorrow, there is a long process to maturity. Self-employment allows us an opportunity to be our true selves and to live our lives fully and successfully.
What would a nation, any nation, be like if its people were all self-employed and worked only two, or one or half hour per day? Do internet millionaires only work a few hours per day? I doubt it. I know millionaires in the offline world, whether it be sports persons, actors, entertainers, investors, entrepreneurs and others, they put in many hours of work per day in order to get to achieve their goals.
Do get rich schemes really provide self-employment? It seems not. It is no wonder that these get rich schemes don't work for the many. Staying home and marketing someone else's product and following someone else's every dictates on how to market does not match the essence of self-employment. Even if we marketed someone else's products, if the business and marketing model allowed for greater involvement beyond plugging some names into an auto-responder and really allowed us to use our abilities to make the business a success, then we would find more fulfillment and satisfaction. We would find that our passion would develop and true self-employment would be achieved and with it the monetary rewards.
Want to be successful? Try true self-employment. Where you are truly in charge, where you are willing to do what it takes to make the business work. Spend time and develop your business plan, develop your product as necessary and your marketing plan, there are lots of resources available that can help you to do that. Implement your plan, don't let someone else do it for you. Make adjustments to the plan as you go along but keep your goal in focus. At the end of the day, you will feel a greater sense of satisfaction because your entire being was employed, truly self-employed.

Advantage of Self Employment

I know plenty of people who are self employed and who work online and they don’t work close to 40 hours per week! And many of them do very well, too. It really depends on what you choose to do and the effort required to succeed.
Rather than list a number of generalizations that may or may not apply to you, let me tell you about the specific self employment benefits I’ve experienced:
1. Autonomy. I no longer work for a boss or for a company and am pretty much in charge of my own destiny.

2. I work my own hours. Unlike the comments I’ve read elsewhere that talk about how being self employed always means working long hours, I work online and have found that I don’t even consider what I do to be “work” anymore.

3. I feel good about doing work that benefits me, not someone else. I’m my own boss so the entire advantage of my work stays with me. I really feel that the earning potential is greater because I’m in charge of my own destiny. I find this to be a big benefit of self employment.

4. It suits my entrepreneurial nature. I realized several years ago that the idea of becoming self employed was something I was interested in. For me, the advantages of self employment fit with my future goals and my entrepreneurial nature.

If you like the 9-5 routine, need a guaranteed salary and like the safety of working for a company, perhaps being self employed is not for you.
The best advice for self employment-minded individuals I can give is to first let them know that they had better be very self motivated and autonomous because they will no longer have a boss watching over their shoulder to keep them on track.
You are your own boss – which is a great advantage – but only if you are capable of being your own boss. If you need constant direction and coaching, you aren’t going to get it being self employed.
Before you decide that becoming self employed is in your future, consider all the pros and cons and how a career change of this nature will effect you long term.
